2016 Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan R-Line

VW Golf Sportsvan R-Line

Individualising new cars continues to be a popular trend. Dynamic features in particular are more in demand than ever. One of the ways that Volkswagen is addressing this trend is with the new 'R-Line' packages. The specialists at the sporty Volkswagen subsidiary, "Volkswagen R GmbH, have now developed two R-Line packages for the Golf Sportsvan, which make their world premiere at the International Motor Show (66th IAA Cars) in Frankfurt.

The 'R-Line' package includes a complete programme for the exterior and interior. Meanwhile, anyone wishing to leave out the individualised interior fittings can restrict themselves to the sporty bodywork enhancements with the 'R-Line' Exterior package.

With the 'R-Line' Exterior package, the Golf Sportsvan gets completely redesigned bumpers with ventilation grilles and chrome elements (at the front) in typical R-Line design and air inlets specific to the R-Line. Additionally, a diffuser in the R-Line design is integrated at the back. Also included in the exterior package are chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes, darkened tail lights and sill extensions in the car's body colour. Both packages are supplemented by designer trim featuring the R-Line logo on the front side sections and doors.

The key features of the 'R-Line' package in the interior are exclusive sports seats. They are distinguished by middle seat panels in Race fabric and seat side supports in San Remo microfibre. The name 'R-Line' is also worked into the seats in the front, which are in turn coordinated with the door panels. The Golf Sportsvan is further enhanced by decorative trim in Black Lead Grey, door kick plates with R-Line lettering, floor mats with decorative stitching in a contrasting colour and pedals complete with foot support in stainless steel. In keeping with that are a black roof liner and a colour-coordinated gear lever gaiter. Fine peripheral details include diverse decorative stitching in a contrasting colour (on the gear lever, R-Line multifunction sports steering wheel, central armrest, door panels and floor mats). Last but not least, the infotainment system displays an 'R-Line' start screen.

Independently of that, Volkswagen is also still offering the 'R-Line' Sports package for the Golf Sportsvan. It includes progressive steering, tinted passenger compartment windows (darkened by 65 per cent) and sports suspension (body 15 mm lower). Volkswagen is also offering for the Golf Sportsvan four different alloy wheel designs from the 'R-Line' range: the 17-inch Salvador rims and the 18-inch Marseille, Salvador (the same design as the 17-inch rims) and Serron wheels.
