2024 Land Rover Defender Outbound: A Versatile Addition for Adventure Seekers

Land Rover has unveiled the Defender 130 Outbound, an exciting addition to the Defender lineup, alongside the 493hp Defender 130 V8 and a new heritage-inspired County Exterior Pack for the Defender 110. These new models offer more choices to Defender customers while retaining the brand's trademark off-road capabilities and superior comfort.

Defender 130 Outbound: Luxury and Capability Combined

The new Defender 130 Outbound is designed for those who want to explore the great outdoors in style and comfort. It is available exclusively with a five-seat configuration and offers up to 88.85 cubic ft (2,516 liters) of cargo space, or 46.93 cubic ft (1,329 liters) with the second-row seats in use. This ample space, combined with a nearly flat loadspace floor measuring 49.88 inches (1.267 meters) in length behind the second row, makes packing and securing gear for outdoor adventures a breeze.

Distinctive Exterior Design

The Outbound distinguishes itself from other Defender models with a subtle yet purposeful look. Exterior design enhancements include a Shadow Atlas Matt finish on the bumpers and grille insert, Anthracite-finished side vents, and Gloss Black 20-inch wheels with standard Advanced All-Terrain tires. A choice of four exterior colors is available, and body-colored rear signature panels and D-pillar finishers complete the look. For added protection off-road, a Satin Protective Film is available as well.

Luxurious and Practical Interior

Inside the Defender 130 Outbound, customers can choose between luxurious full Windsor leather or durable Resist fabric to suit their lifestyles. All interior finishes are in Ebony, with an Ebony Morzine headliner, Robustec veneer, and a Satin Black Powder Coat Brushed finish on the signature cross-car beam. Durable rubber floor matting protects the interior, and additional storage areas and lashing points secure gear while driving.

Advanced Off-Road Capabilities

Land Rover's proven Intelligent All-Wheel Drive System and Terrain Response provide the 130 Outbound's 4x4 capabilities, while Electronic Air Suspension and Adaptive Dynamics come as standard. The Electronic Air Suspension allows up to 16.92 inches (430mm) of articulation and up to 35.43 inches (900mm) of wading, ensuring confident progress across various terrains.

The air suspension simplifies hitching, with switches inside the tailgate to raise and lower the rear of the vehicle. The Outbound is only available with a P400 gas Ingenium engine, featuring Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology for optimal performance.
