Unveiling the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Edition: A Fusion of Rugged Utility and Outdoor Aesthetics

In an intriguing blend of robust utility and outdoor aesthetics, Chevrolet, in conjunction with Realtree, has taken the wraps off their latest joint project - the 2021 Silverado Realtree Edition. This limited-edition pickup intertwines the hearty attributes of the Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss with distinct, outdoorsy Realtree graphics, marking the second time these two brands have joined forces following the 2016 Silverado Realtree Edition.

Embodying Outdoor Enthusiasm in Design and Capability

Resounding Chevrolet's commitment to versatile functionality, Bob Krapes, director of Chevrolet Truck Marketing, affirms that the new Realtree Edition speaks directly to hunting and fishing enthusiasts. Leveraging the acclaimed base of the Custom Trail Boss model, this edition accentuates a striking correlation between a vehicle and the outdoorsy pursuits of its potential owners.

Trail Boss Staples and Added Realtree Flair

Staying true to its Trail Boss heritage, the Realtree Edition brings with it a suite of features that bolster its off-road credibility. This includes a 2-inch (about 5 cm) factory suspension lift, coupled with 20-inch black wheels shod in Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT On-Off Road Tires. The Silverado's Z71 Off-Road Package also makes its way onto the Realtree Edition, furnishing it with monotube Rancho shocks, Hill Descent Control, an automatic locking rear differential, skid plates, and an AutoTrac 2-speed transfer case.

Powering the Realtree Edition is the 5.3L V-8 engine mated to a 6-speed transmission. Chevrolet also offers an upgrade to a 6.2L V-8 capable of delivering an SAE-certified 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque, paired with a smooth 10-speed automatic transmission.

Distinct Realtree Design Elements

Distinct Realtree camouflage graphics lend an air of uniqueness to both the exterior and the interior door trim of this edition. In addition to these, the Realtree logo has been tastefully integrated into the standard bedliner. Complementing these visually striking elements are black Silverado and Z71 badging, black rectangular dual-exhaust tips, and 4-inch black round assist steps. The interior hasn't been left out either, with all-weather floor liners further enhancing its rugged appeal.

Optimized Cargo Space with the Durabed

The Silverado Realtree Edition comes equipped with Chevrolet's Durabed - a feature that boasts the most standard cargo capacity in its class, 12 standard tie-downs, and a high-strength, roll-formed steel bed floor. This bed design not only adds to the truck's utility but also underscores its rugged character, ensuring it's ready to meet the demands of outdoor enthusiasts.

A Testament to Collaboration

Bill Jordan, Realtree designer and president, expressed his enthusiasm for the result of their collaboration with Chevrolet. He highlighted the efforts behind crafting a performance truck that aligns with the needs and preferences of outdoor enthusiasts.

The 2021 Silverado Realtree Edition made its debut at the 2020 SHOT Show and hit Chevrolet dealerships in summer 2020. The brand opted to withhold pricing details until closer to the production date, further intensifying the anticipation surrounding this special edition pickup.
