BRABUS 800 based on Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S

  • 588 kW / 800 hp and a peak torque of 1,000 Nm
  • 0 – 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 280 km/h
  • Sporty carbon designer outfit and 24-inch wheels
  • Exclusive BRABUS fine leather interior

Even greater performance and fascination for the top-of-the-line model of the Mercedes GLE-Class. The engineers, technicians and designers of BRABUS created a high-performance automobile in a class of its own based on the current GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ SUV or Coupe - the BRABUS 800 supercar.

The BRABUS PowerXtra B40S-800 performance upgrade increases peak power of the four-liter, eight-cylinder twin-turbo engine by 138 kW / 188 hp (185 bhp) to 588 kW / 800 hp (789 bhp). At the same time, peak torque grows by 150 Nm (111 lb-ft) to 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft). As a result, the supercar shoots from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h (174 mph).

Naked-carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components and tailor-made BRABUS wheels up to the 24-inch king-sized format give the SUV an equally sporty and exclusive appearance.

BRABUS creates BRABUS fine leather appointments from the finest leather and Alcantara in any desired color to customize the interior.

The BRABUS 800 high-performance engine turns the GLE 63 S SUV and of course also its counterpart with coupe body style into a high-performance automobile in a class of its own. The BRABUS powerplant engineers upgrade the four-liter twin-turbo V8 of the top-of-the-line model of the current GLE generation with the powerful BRABUS PowerXtra B40S-800 performance kit.

The changes to the engine hardware involve the turbocharging system. Two reconfigured BRABUS high-performance turbochargers with larger compressor unit and modified core assembly produce a maximum boost pressure of 1.6 bar.

The engineers reprogrammed the mapping of the electronic engine control unit in order to recalibrate the electronic boost pressure control and to further optimize the power delivery without jeopardizing the engine’s durability. To this end, they conducted extensive tests on state-of-the-art stationary engine test benches. At the same time, BRABUS carried out extended test-drives on the racetrack and on public roads. The new software is introduced by the plug-and-play BRABUS PowerXtra auxiliary control module, which is adapted to the engine electronics of the GLE 63 S.

The result is an increase in power by 138 kW / 188 hp (185 bhp) and a boost in torque by 150 Nm (111 lb-ft). 588 kW / 800 hp (789 bhp) at 5,900 rpm and a peak torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) on tap at a low 3,500 rpm make the five-door one of the most powerful of its kind.

The performance speaks for itself: From rest, the BRABUS 800 with SPEEDSHIFT nine-speed sports transmission and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds. Gears are shifted either automatically or manually with the ergonomic BRABUS RACE aluminum paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h (174 mph). In addition, BRABUS offers the optional BRABUS Memory System, which can permanently deactivate the standard automatic start-stop system.

It goes without saying that every BRABUS engine delivers not only outstanding performance, but also flawless daily practicality and durability. The world’s largest independent automotive refinement specialist documents this with the three-year or 100,000-km/62,000-mile BRABUS Tuning Warranty (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013).

The BRABUS stainless-steel sports exhaust system with actively controlled exhaust flaps optimizes the engine’s performance and produces a thrilling V8 exhaust note. This system makes active sound management possible from the driver’s seat. It allows switching at the touch of a button between a throaty V8 sound in ‘Sport’ mode and a subtle whisper in ‘Coming Home’ mode.

Thrilling looks and optimal aerodynamic function: The BRABUS designers developed bodywork components made of the hi-tech material carbon fiber for both body styles of the GLE 63. They are available with a choice of high-gloss or matt coating. The front spoiler lip at the lower part of the bumper in the radiator grille gives the BRABUS 800 an even more distinctive face in concert with the two air intakes and the red signature stripes. But that’s not all: Thanks to its sophisticated shape, the spoiler minimizes front-axle lift at high speeds, thus further improving the handling stability. The side air intakes in the front bumper are upgraded with tailor-made carbon surrounds.

BRABUS can also refine the side view by adding a touch of racing flair. To this end, BRABUS offers carbon elements that replace the ex-factory wheel arch trim. The BRABUS diffuser insert was developed for the rear fascia. It perfectly showcases the four BRABUS titanium/carbon tailpipes with a diameter of 90 millimeters (3.5 in). The BRABUS roof spoiler rounds off the aerodynamics concept for the five-door.

BRABUS alloy wheels for the GLE 63 come in different designs and with diameters of 21, 22, 23 or 24 inches. The most exclusive available option are BRABUS Monoblock Z "PLATINUM EDITION" hi-tech forged rims in 10Jx24 king-sized format. In concert with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, the ten-spoke styling offers an outstanding combination of lightweight construction and maximum strength. BRABUS chose low-profile tires of size 295/30 R 24 for all four corners.

A special BRABUS control module for the AIRMATIC air suspension lowers the ride height of the high-performance SUV by about 25 millimeters (1 in). This gives the all-wheel car a more thrilling stance and further improves the driving dynamics thanks to the lower center of gravity.

BRABUS also enjoys a high reputation around the world in the area of automotive interior design. The company upholstery shop creates BRABUS fine leather appointments for the BRABUS 800 and of course for any other GLE, which are tailored to the customer’s preferences in every detail. The master upholsterers transform Alcantara and the finest BRABUS Mastik leather, an especially soft and breathable type of leather, into high-quality interiors in any desired color. They work with meticulous precision by hand to create BRABUS appointments that range from the dashboard and the seats to the door panels and the headliner. The BRABUS precious-wood and carbon interior sets also offer maximum variety in terms of color and surface finish.

For the vehicle pictured here, BRABUS created a sporty BRABUS fine leather interior from black and red leather, combined with carbon elements with high-gloss finish sealer.

In addition, BRABUS offers further cockpit accessories ranging from aluminum door lock pins and pedals to stainless-steel scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo that changes colors in sync with the ambient lighting of the interior.

The BRABUS 800 is available for order as a complete car, SUV or Coupe. Alternatively, BRABUS can convert any GLE 63 to this specification all at once or in stages.

Fuel economy, CO2 emissions and efficiency class: BRABUS 800 based on the Mercedes GLE 63 S 4MATIC+: city 15.3 l/100 km, highway 9.3 l/100 km, combined: 11.5 l/100 km. Combined CO2 emissions: 262 g/km, efficiency class E.
