Aston Martin Vantage AMR 2018: Racing Pedigree Meets Road Maturity

After the grand unveiling of the Vantage AMR Pro at this year’s Geneva Auto Show, Aston Martin notifies us that they've fired up the production line for its less intense sibling - the Vantage AMR. Limited to a mere 300 units worldwide with an allocation of 100 pieces dedicated to their ferocious V12 variant and twice that number reserved for the more agile V8 models.

Vantage Heritage Embraced By The New Model

The title 'Vantage' has been associated with enhanced performance Aston Martins since the mid-20th century. True to tradition, it's only befitting that these exceptionally tuned cars are crowned with such prestigious nomenclature reflecting their lineage within Aston Martin's illustrious history.

The birth of AMR (Aston Martin Racing) earlier this year introduced increased vigor into road-going Aston Martins, drawing heavily from their FIA World Endurance Championship feats where factory drivers Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen were victorious last season.

Powering On And Shifting Up!

Continuing in its elder brother's footsteps, known from our previous coverage as "The Exemplar", each model comes equipped either with a roaring 430 bhp V8 or an even mightier V12 power plant pushing out an astonishing figure of 595bhp1 – upped slightly from prior levels.

Catering to both extremes on driver preference spectrum, there is automated sequential manual paddle-shift transmissions available for those who prefer ease-of-access; gear-rowing purists will appreciate availability of six and seven-speed manuals in respective output versions staying justifiably true to their race-inspired roots.

Luxurious Exterior and Bespoke Liveries

The Aston Martin Vantage AMR 2018, whether in its V8 or V12 form, will be available in a quartet of exquisite exterior schemes: Stratus White with an Orange graphic; Ultramarine Black paired with Blue visuals; Zaffre Blue featuring Red aesthetic touches and Scintilla Silver cloaked in Grey.

Reflecting the brand's winning heritage is the AMR ‘Halo Pack’. This applies an artful blend of Stirling Green paintwork complimented by vibrant Lime Green accents harkening back to their championship successful #95 Vantage GTE. Further reinforcing this racing pedigree, there's an option for complimentary Union Jack-enameled AML wings badge typically seen on last year’s GTE title contender.

Craftsmanship Manifest In Interiors

Aston Martin has time and again proven its aptitude at blending performance with luxury – both well represented within the interior cabin of these machines. Depending on body choice, interiors feature a fusion of plush leather & Alcantara for coupes while roadsters enjoy all-leather treatment each selected to harmonize with chosen exterior hue.

Race-Inspired Add-Ons And Personalization Options

In partnership with Aston Martin Racing, the company offers optional extensive aerodynamic package including front splitter and dive planes, side sills and a fixed rear spoiler carved from carbon fiber for coupé models - further reducing weight whilst boosting downforce levels. Alongside this awe-inspiring Aero kit are lightweight carbon fiber seats amongst other elements such as lamp infills and mirror caps contributing to overall weight reduction efforts reflecting the carmaker’s desire towards optimized performance dynamics.

Ready To Hit The Roads But Yearning For Tracks

Both variations of the 2018 Aston Martin Vantage AMR, in their coupé and roadster guises are scheduled to commence deliveries in the fourth quarter of this year. For U.K. enthusiasts, prices start at an appreciable £97,995 providing a unique opportunity to own a piece from Aston's Motorsport legacy.

Finishing Line Rather Than The Conclusion

The 2018 Aston Martin Vantage AMR’s launch brings forth anticipation amongst fervent fans who relish motorsports heritage blended within exciting dynamic form factor & emotional response eliciting machines that still remain inherently usable on public roads. While they're destined to be collectible rarities because of limited production numbers, rest assured these masterpieces will provide immense driving pleasure whether behind wheel or merely being stationary – further extending the marque's awe-inspiring "track-to-tarmac" philosophy into reality.
